Welcome to

Eureka / Arcata / Trinidad

The Redwood Coast is your escape to nature in Northern California! Situated about 5 hours north of San Francisco, the landscapes here will take your breath away. The Coast consists of a few main cities including Arcata, Eureka, McKinleyville, and Trinidad. Each city is known for its unique appeal.

Be surrounded by forest in Arcata or head to Trinidad for stunning beaches. In Eureka, you’ll find plenty of restaurants and shops in downtown. Arcata is also a popular destination for prospective students and families of Humboldt State University students.

Welcome to the Redwood Coast

This area is known as home to the largest expanse of redwoods in the world. Humboldt Redwoods State Park spans over 53,000 acres, including the 10,000 acre Rockefeller Forest. The rich coniferous canopy soaring above attracts visitors from across the globe to marvel at the awe-inspiring drive through the Avenue of the Giants.

Tucked between the Redwood National and State Parks to the north and Humboldt Redwoods State Park to the south, this is the heart of California’s redwood coast, not to mention home to the world’s tallest tree! In late 2006, the 380-foot tall towering redwood giant, named Hyperion, was discovered in an undisclosed location within the Redwoods National and State Park - do you think you can spot it?

This is the perfect destination for tranquility, exploration, and great food. Find out what it feels like to be truly at one with nature and plan your Redwood Coast getaway!
